Bulldog Collins Cocktail

This Summer is fast approaching and we are already looking to see which drinks will be the top sun sippers. Our friends over at Bulldog London Dry Gin have been busy playing around with the classics and manipulating the top cocks from years gone by. 2015 will see them mixing things up by offering several different twists on the classic Collins cocktail. Seasonal fruits such as, Strawberries, Raspberries and Mango will be added to create a defiantly delicious drink, available from The Proud Archivist, Haggerston and many other reputable establishments across the capital.

The Original Collins is based on the first Tom Collins recipe, which was written by the father of modern cocktail making, Jerry Thomas. It’s a simple mix of Gin, Lemon and Sugar Syrup, shaken over ice and served in a Collins glass – a classic!

However, Bulldog’s brand ambassador, Bianca Hepworth created her own Bulldog Collins especially for the Summer of 2015.

Ingredients: 

50ml Bulldog Gin

20ml Lemon Juice

20ml 2:1 Gomme

Garnish with seasonal fruit of choice

Method:

Shake,n served in a tall glass over cubed ice and topped up with Soda. Garnished with a Lemon wedge. Garnish with the Lemon Wedge/Raspberry/Strawberry/Mango then serve

Other variations you can sample this Summer are

Lychee and Chilli Collins

Ingredients: 

50ml Bulldog
15ml lychee liqueur
20ml lemon juice
10ml sugar syrup
Dash chilli bitters

Method:

Shaken, served tall, topped with soda, lychee garnish.

Halley’s Collins

Ingredients: 

35ml Bulldog
20ml creme de poire
10ml white pepper gomme
20ml lemon juice
Walnut bitters

Method:

Shaken, served tall, topped with soda, walnut and lemon twist garnish. It’s really pretty because the peppercorns sit all through the drink.
