Gin lovers can rejoice this spring, as there’s a new top tipple to try in the multi-award winning Rock Rose Gin collection. Featuring a selection of hand foraged spring botanicals, this Limited Edition Gin offers a true seasonal taste of the Scottish Highlands.
Rock Rose Gin hails from the most northerly distillery in mainland Britain, Dunnet Bay Distillery, which is located in the spectacular bay of Dunnet where the freshest of air and purest of water are in abundance. It’s here that husband and wife team, Martin and Claire Murray, hand distil their Rock Rose Gin to create a unique gin that uses local ingredients to showcases the heritage and provenance of the area.
Featuring botanicals from local cliffs and forests that are in small abundance and dependent on the climes, each year heralds a new Rock Rose Gin vintage. Now with the launch of the Limited Editions, you will even be able to enjoy seasonal variations and subtleties in the flavour profile of this craft gin. From the Spring Edition, expect a crisp, fresh flavour and a long, smooth finish, plus a fresh look with the beautifully illustrated bottle coming complete in green and yellow hues.
Launched to critical acclaim in 2015, Rock Rose Gin gets its name from the distillery’s first botanical forage along the cliffs of Caithness, where they discovered Rhodiola rosea (a rose in the rocks), which adds a delicate floral note to the gin. In fact the Vikings once pillaged this precious plant believing it would give them extra strength and make them live to 200!
