Here at We the food Snobs we love a festival, especially when there’s a great food offering involved too! This time we are getting excited about this weekend’s Farr Festival. After trying out the culinary delights of Michael O’Hare and Lee Wescott at a supper club at Lost Village Festival in May, we’re heading to another festival packed with awesome street food. Now in its 7th year, Farr Festival is held in an uninhabited forest in Hertfordshire, bringing an array of international musical talent along with a packed daytime programme.
What now appears to be a necessity at music festivals, Farr’s organiser have brought together an impressive food line-up, from the gluttonous to the wholesome, sweet and sour, meat lovers to vegan, festival goers are being spoilt with a choice of great street food names. If you’re heading down there this weekend, look out for The Cheese Truck – often credited as making some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches, they offer a bunch of dishes made with some of the best British cheese – including the intriguing stilton and dark chocolate brownie! Also present are Claw, renowned for their crab burgers, which are made with sumptuous helpings of delicious crab meat, and let’s not fordet Burger and Beyond. If it’s meat you’re after, these are proper beef burgers!
Farr’s organisers have been busy packing the festival with a host of activities to keep campers entertained in the day as well as the night. This year they’ve created “The Shala” a purpose built sanctuary for candlelit yoga featuring Madeleine Shaw and Marcus Veder. The “Locked Inn” is a Shanty themed bar offering immersive entertainment, while the Farr cinema will screen a selection of cult classics. Then of course there’s the music. In previous years Farr’s hosted names including DJ Koze, Mount Kimbie, Âme and this year John Talabot will be headlining alongside Ben UFO, Joy Orbison, Max Cooper, Jeremy Underground and more exciting names from the electronic music scene.
Farr Festival takes place in Bygrave Woods, Hertfordshire (25mins from Kings Cross) 14-16 July
