If you weren’t aware you probably are now but today is #NutellaDay and we wanted to create something special to honour this most delightful creation. So welcome to We The Food Snobs’ Nutella-Stuffed Pancakes! That’s right…stuffed! And we’re going to tell you just how you go about stuffing your face with said pancakes!
230g Plain Flour
2 Heaped Teaspoons of Baking Powder
280ml of Milk
Pinch Of Salt
Chocolate Sauce, Malt Balls, Mini Caramel Rolls & Chocolate Balls to garnish
This is it guys! First things first, take your Nutella and spread thing discs on to kitchen foil or baking parchment, one for each pancake you want to make. Pop the sheet of discs into the freezer so that the discs become hard. You want a nice frozen disc that will slowly melt away once inside that pancake, ready to ooze out on the first slice!
Once hardened enough (couple of hours should do it), mix the flour, milk, baking powder, salt and eggs together to create your batter. Put your frying pan on the hob with a little oil and you’re ready to go. Note, if you have a specific pancake pan, this makes things easier but don’t threat if not.
When the pan is hot enough, pour on your first pancake, applying a disc of Nutella on top and then add an extra bit of batter, so that the Nutella disc is fully covered. If you don’t have a pancake pan then the batter might run over the sides a bit but don’t worry, you can trim the excess.
Once the bottom has sealed, flip the pancake (probably best to do it with the old spatula to prevent the loss of that Nutella disc with a rigorous wrist flip) and your Nutella will now start to form a molten core inside!
And that’s it! Simple right? Just repeat until you’re happy with your stack and garnish as you please. We went fully indulgent and covered ours in chocolate heaven!
