After four years in the London street food scene, Breddos Tacos is pleased to announce the opening of its first permanent Taqueria. Launching in partnership with Ennismore, the 40-cover restaurant will open on Goswell Road in Clerkenwell this November. It will be opening on the 8th of December with 50% off soft launch for 3 days!
The vibrant restaurant takes its inspiration from the roadside taquerias visited by founders, Nud Dudhia and Chris Whitney, on their extensive travels throughout Mexico and America. The menu will focus on regional Mexican and Pocho (Mexican-American) cuisine using the best of British produce.
Breddos Taqueria will serve breakfast through to dinner; breakfast dishes include Austin style tacos and blueberry churro french toast. Lunch will feature tacos, tostadas and tlayudas (Mexican pizzas), with dishes such as salsa verde-braised Chicharrón (pig skin) and Tikin Xic (Yucatan grilled fish), alongside Breddos classics including crunchy nut sweetbreads, masa fried chicken and beef tartare with black pudding mole, all priced between £2 and £5. The evening menu will expand to include dishes from the wood grill, such as spit roast Iberico Pork Al Pastor with roasted pineapple, and larger sharing dishes from the regions of Sonora and Guadalajara, such as mutton barbacoa and beef rib birria.
In a continuation of Breddos’ street food menus, seafood specials will be a big feature of the Taqueria with dishes like sea urchin tostadas and exotic chile pulpo ‘vampiros’ on offer. The Taqueria will house a volcanic stone mill and tortilla machine imported from Mexico, which will be used to nixtamalise and grind corn daily to make masa (corn dough) for the restaurant’s dishes.
Breddos Taqueria offers a large sharing table for 10, counter/bar seating and 4 seater banquets for customers and also houses a considerable vintage vinyl collection which customers are free to play music from.
Breddos have collaborated with Square Root Soda to create their own version of Mexican Coca Cola using natural cane sugar. Additionally, the Taqueria bar will serve a daily selection of agua frescas, mescal, cocktails, Square Mile coffee, British craft beer, and a curated wine list.
