BOOM Burger Opens First Permanent Restaurant On Portobello Road
Boom Burger, the uniquely Jamaican-influenced burger company will fully open its first permanent restaurant at 272 Portobello Road on Tuesday 4th March 2014.
Open for both lunch and dinner, and offering both a dine-in and take-away service, the new venue will offer Londoners the chance to enjoy Head Chef and founder Josh de Lisser’s Jamaican take on the burger experience, with loud Caribbean flavours at the heart of the concept. With that in mind, plantain fries are served alongside the standard potato variety; house mayo is pepped up with Scotch Bonnets, while mouth-watering free-range chicken wings are marinated in a fiery jerk rub.
The burgers are the star of the show, however, and the menu will see the return of old favourites such as the Boom Burger (a classic beef burger covered in cheese and bacon jam – £8), Jerk Boom (jerk chicken with fried plantain, rocket, mango and pawpaw sauce – £8) and the Brunch Boom (sweet-cured bacon topped with a fried egg, bacon jam and fresh avocado salsa – £5).
Meanwhile, new menu additions include the Fish Boom (pan-fried red snapper with rocket, escovitch sauce and jerk mayo – £9), a Jerk Salad (shredded jerk chicken salad with a mango and papaya dressing – £6) and Stamp & Go (saltfish, chilli and herb fritters – £5). In addition to the main menu, Boom Burger will also offer a special Lunch Box for just £5, consisting of a smaller burger and fries.
Boom Burger’s soft-opening dates are 16th Feb – 2nd March where a restricted menu at restricted times is available at a 50% discount. The 4th March is the official opening date!
